Am I insane?

I saw the trailer for Dinosaur. [requires realplayer] And I saw some uranium bomb imagery. My gods, now I'm seeing meaning which isn't there, just like the people I hate. Art is a disease. It's infectious. It's contagious. Stay away from it, all of you. Any epidemiologists out there, please email me immediately and tell me what I can do to contain this outbreak.

(No, I'm not talking about the meteor itself, that would be too obvious. I mean, there is something which alludes to the shape of a mushroom cloud. Or rather, doesn't, but it could be interpreted that way by someone desperate to find meaning in the meaningless. See if you can find it)

I know no-one else in the whole world who likes Enya. What is there not to like about Enya?

1:13 PM

I'm searching for images of a dull, uninteresting room for a Graphic Design project. I can find stylish rooms. I can find messy rooms. I cannot find a single image of a dull, ordinary, bad decor room. What does this tell us about the internet?

12:53 PM

graffiti.org.

Uh. Yeah. I know it's customary to post a comment along with the links, but I really can't think of anything to say about this one.

Here's something to give you some idea of how lazy I am:

My browser automatically comes up on Google. However, Google does not perform image searches. For image searches I tend to use Lycos. So, how does everyone else get to Lycos? Type lycos.com into your adress bar? Too much hassle. I just type "lycos" into Google and press "I'm feeling lucky". This saves me five keystokes, at the expense of one mouseclick. Yes, I really do think like that. I wonder what the google staff think when they read their logs and see someone using google to get to lycos. I doubt they object, they'd just be saying: Why?

An upside to being here while Lizzie reads my site: I got to see her fall for the trick on the A Tribute To Johannes Klabbers page. Ha! I can't believe someone fell for that.

6:31 PM

Lizzie is sitting to my right reading Perpetua. One of the entries she's included in. It really gets on my nerves.

7:29 AM

I'm sure this is what the networking programmers who made the IP protocols were intending the internet to be used for.

Hmmm.

5:40 AM

Useless Trivia Update: iMacs make less noise in standby/suspend mode than when they're supposedly "off" altogether. Most peculiar.

5:36 AM

I joined the Webloggers web-ring. That seemed like the best thing to do, in the circumstances. More ethically viable than stealing Zannah's design, easier (and more effective) than posting actual content.

5:23 AM

I'm wondering how I should get more publicity for this site. I'm reluctant to resort to the tried-and-true yet unimaginative methods such as copying the layout of Zannah's site exactly, sending an anoynomous tip to the effect that someone has dared to steal Zannah's layout to Zannah or one of her friends and waiting for the traffic to pour in (why do Zannah and friends publicise people who do this?). I thought briefly about having some actual content here, but seeing Jish's web-log, I'm starting to think that content is counterproductive so far as getting traffic to one's site goes.

Add another "Under Construction" icon to your web-page! Go on, you know you need another one.

o o o o o o o o

(In all fairness, I have to mention that some people think that there are vaild reasons for having an Under Construction page. At times)

6:26 PM

The only webring worth joining

Interesting concept. You get to make a stand against webrings, and, at the same time, get the traffic-sharing benifeits. Hypocrisy, or part of the parody? You be the judge.

3:48 AM

Neverending Lonliness is a page about the isolation suffered by people who spend all their time making up poetry about isolation. I can really relate to this.

3:22 AM

The red sea was made of thermos-cup plastic. it's the only explaination. (Either that, or the story of Moses in Exodus isn't true, and we wouldn't want to believe that, now, would we?) According to Exodus, Moses made a passage through the Red Sea (well, to be honest, we don't know which damned sea it was, but one of 'em) and the sand on the bottom wasn't wet. Well, my thermos comes with a cup, and this cup is stone-dry the moment I've finished drinking from it. Water just slides across it. It's incredible. So, the bottom of the Red Sea must be made of the same stuff. QED.

2:43 AM

Things that go bump in the night update: Being alone in the computer centre at night, I often hear many strange sounds. Right now, I'm hearing the sounds of mice running through the skirting boards all around me.

Those of you who have read "The Rats in the Walls" have permission to think that this is scary. No-one else is allowed to. They're only mice. How can they possibly be scary? I can't stand people who're scared of mice. I really have only one thing to fear - that they'll chew through the network cables - which are contained in the skirting boards - and I'll suddenly be disconnected. That's actually more scary to me than what happened in Lovecraft's tale.

I Hate Sidebars.
